I recently took up trail running after a near two-year hiatus and did it ever feel good to breath the spring scented air deep into my lungs and be submersed in nature again. Taken by the beauty along a new trail I tried at Thetis Lake Park, all I could think about was photographing a couple there. I ran up and down that mountain 10 times over the course of a week, sometimes twice a day, and mentally marked out locations I liked a where the sun fell along the way.
I posted the following message on the Hiking Enthusiasts Vancouver Island Facebook Group:
“Looking for a fun, active, energetic couple (straight or gay) who are madly in love to spend an hour or so with early morning (7am) at Seymore hill. We will hike, run, lounge on the cliffs, climb some trees and overlook the lake. “
A group member reached out to me and said Hannah and Roland ticked all the boxes. I was grateful they could make it out on such short notice. The spring feel of the place would quickly fade to summer. Together we explored the mountain and played in the abundance of textures Vancouver Island has to offer.
Thank you Roland and Hannah for being so open to anything. It was pleasure spending time together on that gorgeous afternoon. Good call bringing the wine glasses and blanket!
